Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a unique therapy which originated in Australia, where it has been used for over 40 years to successfully treat people with a wide range of problems. It is an exceptionally gentle, natural and holistic method which involves the therapist applying subtle but precise moves with the fingers and thumbs over soft tissue. It can be done through very light clothing or on skin. Between the moves there are pauses to allow the body to assimilate the information and begin to respond. There is little or no discomfort – there is no force, no heavy pressure, no needles and no forceful adjustments of joints.

The Bowen Technique (Bowtech) can also be performed through light comfortable clothing, or with the client undressed to underwear and relaxing under towels. The moves are extremely subtle, and light pressure only is used. The therapist will leave the room for a minimum of two minutes and this allows the body time to react to the moves performed. Bowen is suitable for all ages, and can treat many conditions. Treatments last for approximately one and a quarter hours and are deeply relaxing.

Comments from my Bowen clients:

“Thanks to you and the Bowen Technique my back has never felt so good! I don’t know how it works but for me it did and it is something I would certainly recommend it to others as a means of pain relief. “
